Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran Visits Avance International University in Uganda

H.E. Majid Saffar, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Uganda, paid an official visit to Avance International University (AIU) following a formal invitation from the university's leadership. The visit aimed to evaluate educational infrastructure and identify new horizons for collaboration in research and academic fields.

During a specialized meeting with the university’s Board of Directors, the leadership highlighted the growth of the university since its establishment in 2016. With six specialised faculties and over 1,800 graduates to date, AIU is recognized as one of Uganda’s rapidly growing academic centers. The university expressed a strong interest in establishing ties with Iran’s scientific community to enhance its educational standards.

The discussions focused on key areas of mutual interest, including student exchange programs, the export of Iranian knowledge-based medical products, and technical knowledge transfer to support the university's developing healthcare infrastructure.

The visit concluded with a field tour led by the Ambassador, who inspected the university’s ongoing construction projects and laboratory facilities to assess the practical requirements for future cooperation.
