Iranian Ambassador Visits MUBS, Promises Stronger Academic Ties with Iranian Universities

Iranian Ambassador visited Makerere University Business School and met with the Principal Professor Moses Muhwezi together with members of the School’s top management.

H.E. Majid Saffar, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Uganda, paid a special visit to Makerere University Business School (MUBS), where he was warmly received by the Principal, Professor Moses Muhwezi, together with members of the School’s top management.

During the meeting, Professor Muhwezi emphasized the importance of enhancing academic cooperation between MUBS and universities in the Islamic Republic of Iran. He noted that such partnerships would open avenues for student exchanges, joint research initiatives, and collaborative academic programs that are essential in addressing shared development challenges.

In his remarks, Ambassador Saffar expressed Iran’s readiness to deepen engagement with Ugandan academic institutions, particularly MUBS. He stated that Iranian universities are eager to partner in areas such as business education, science and technology, entrepreneurship, and innovation. The ambassador further emphasized the value of intercultural exchange, academic mobility, and collaborative research in fostering long-term relations between the two countries.

The two sides also explored possibilities for organizing academic conferences, promoting bilateral scholarships, and encouraging academic cooperation. The visit is seen as a significant step toward building a strong foundation for academic diplomacy and international collaboration in higher education.
